To guide, to listen, to teach.

ROLE OF A MENTOR:

To meet one-on-one with a youth or person in need of friendship, building a long-term relationship that will enhance the quality of life for both the mentor and the mentee.

WHAT IS A MENTOR ANYWAY?

A Mentor IS: A Mentor ISN'T:
  • A guide
  • A therapist
  • A good listener
  • A cool peer
  • A responsive adult
  • Perfect
  • A reliable adult
  • A substitute parent
  • A positive role model
  • An authority figure
  •

    WOULD YOU BE MY MENTOR?

There's nothing so nice as a heart made of gold.

And a mentor's heart holds wealth that's untold.

Would you be my mentor? Your ear will you lend?

Could we get together, and just become friends?

It's not that I need much, just and hour or two.

I know your time's precious, but you'll like me, won't you?

So give it some thought, take more than a day.

Then call up the number, and tell them, "Okay."

I'll not disappoint you, when you visit me.

You'll have so much fun, you can not believe.

Would you be my mentor? Your ear will you lend?

Could we get together, and just become friends?
