Multi-State Outbreak of Salmonella from
Peter Pan and Great Value brands of peanut butter

Chautauqua County Health Department has had reports of contaminated peanut butter from residents in Chautauqua County. We cannot stress enough that people should check their peanut butter for the "2111" code, and stop eating it immediately. Most cases of salmonella are not life threatening, but we are always concerned about the effects on young children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems. We recommend contacting your healthcare provider if you are currently experiencing symptoms. The public is always welcome to contact the Chautauqua County Health Department with questions.
