Chautauqua Area Rural Transit System
C.A.R.T.S. can provide transportation to dining
sites, social agencies and shopping centers.
They operate a fixed route schedule as well as

(Community Alternative
Systems Agency)

information on how to access help for older
persons who need assistance with personal care,

Developmental Disabilities Program
Ongoing case management
services, referrals, and follow-up contacts to
older adults who have physical, mental, or
emotional disabilities. Senior Citizens who have
adult children with disabilities may also

Sites
Noon meals are
served at many sites. Senior citizens may enjoy
a nutritious meal, fellowship, recreation and
educational opportunities. Reservations one day
in advance are required and a donation is
requests; however, no one is denied a meal due
to inability to contribute. Get a listing of

Elder Abuse Prevention
Program
This program
offers assistance to seniors who are at risk
for, or are victims of abuse or neglect. It
provides education, training, and presentations
to raise awareness of elder abuse and neglect. A
trained caseworker will assess situations and
assist in obtaining appropriate assistance.
Works in conjunction with Protective Services
and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department
Senior Services Investigator. For more

neutral location or in the home of a housebound

Protective Services for Adults
Trained caseworkers with the
Chautauqua County Department of Social Services
will investigate reports of abuse and neglect of
individuals over the age of 18 years, who have
physical or mental impairment, and have no one
willing or able to assist them. All referrals
