Our Department will provide technical assistance to private home owners with their own water supply. Private water supplies include sources such as: dug or drilled wells, ponds, springs. Our Department laboratory is certified to test water for bacteria. If necessary, we can provide instructions to disinfect your well or recommend additional testing to be performed by a private certified lab. We can also help you to make an informed decision on whether or not you need to drill a new well, add water treatment, or upgrade your existing treatment system to better serve your needs.

DISINFECTION:
If you choose to install or are required to install continuous disinfection. Your choices are chlorination or ultraviolet light. If your home is supplied with surface water or a shallow dug well, it is recommended that filtration be installed.
