Loan survey, water and sewage survey or property transfer survey
are all the same survey. The survey is often required by a lending
agency before a loan amount will be approved to purchase a home. The
Chautauqua County Health Department provides this service to private
homeowners. This survey simply evaluates the sewage system components
and ensures that they are functioning in compliance with the Sanitary
Code of the Chautauqua County Health District at the time of the
inspection. A water sample is also collected and analyzed for specific
bacteria. To learn

During the survey it may be discovered that the water is not satisfactory
for human consumption and/or the sewage components are not functioning
properly. At which time corrective measures must be taken. The corrective
measures may include: well
disinfection, installing
continuous water disinfection and/or repairing
or replacing a septic system. The corrective measures are clearly
communicated to the owner's attorney via written correspondence.
