Effective July 1, 2008, the Chautauqua
County Director of Human Resources has assumed the administration of Civil
Service for the City of Jamestown. At that time, Chautauqua County eligible
lists will be certified to fill vacancies in the City of Jamestown as
appropriate. Candidates interested in employment with the City of Jamestown
must now participate in examinations conducted by the Chautauqua County
Department of Human Resources.
The
Chautauqua County Department of Human Resources is responsible for ensuring
that people are hired for public employment by the merit and fitness standards
mandated by the Civil Service Law. The
Department of Human Resources oversees the hiring processes for all Chautauqua
County Government departments and agencies, as well as its towns, villages,
school districts, special districts, City of Dunkirk, City of Jamestown
and BOCES Second Supervisory District, Erie-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Counties.
